Got the Baby Fat Blues? Here Are 2 Healthy Ways to Get Rid of Pesky, Post-Pregnancy Baby Weight.

By Contributing Author

A kangaroo pouch on a human.

That’s how many females think their stomachs look after they’ve had a baby (or two).

And that mindset makes sense.

You did go from having a whole human in your belly to just nothing but…well, belly.

And now it’s made up of excessive amounts of fat and skin that you definitely want to get rid of ASAP.

But how? How do you get rid of not just the fat, but also the stretched-out skin? What do you do?

The answer is simple, but tedious. And it’s something I like to call “The B&T”.

1.) BURN the Fat and Delete the Carbohydrates Using Targeted Meals

During pregnancy, food consumption for females usually goes up.

The mother of my child told me that she was eating for two, and I don’t mean figuratively.

She was literally eating for two Lol.

She would get a meal for her and a meal for the baby.

Heck, she almost took my head off when I attempted to take her French fries because I felt she was overeating.

I’ll never forget what she yelled: “YOU BETTA GIMME MY FRIES!!

A female, pregnancy, and food? A dangerous combination Lol.

Now, after a pregnancy, the body has an opportunity to bounce back to some sense of normalcy. However…

…many females expect this process to happen on its own, and, for the most part, it does, but only when they’re pretty young (late teens to mid 20’s).

The obvious reason for this is their metabolism.

The younger you are, the faster your metabolism more than likely is.

The problem comes when females cross the 30-year threshold.

Their metabolisms start slowing down and, by then, most of their eggs used to procreate are gone.

So, when they have a child, the skin doesn’t tighten as much and the weight doesn’t come off as quickly, and most of the time never, not without assistance.

And the best assistance a female can have in this case is a healthy, customized meal plan.

With the right meal plan, which needs to target non-carbohydrate-filled, fatty foods, the body can ‘turn on’ its afterburners.

This will force the body to start burning much more fat because of the lack of the other fuel source (carbohydrates).

And, because of the increased intensity of the usage of the fat put into the body, weight loss increases significantly.

2.) TIGHTEN the Muscles and Skin Using Yoga

Exercise is definitely a must when it comes to attempting to tighten the skin and muscles that were loosened or stretched out during single pregnancy.

And let’s not even begin to talk about a twin pregnancy.

During that time, the skin and muscles take a beating like you would not believe if you didn’t see it in picture after picture throughout the Internet.

With that level of aggressive damage to the body, you have to have a remedy that is equally aggressive.

So, here’s where some hilarity comes into play (don’t laugh Lol):

Storytime:

One day on social media, I saw a picture of a gentleman with whom I used to go to school, and he was doing yoga.

And yes, he was ripped, muscle-wise.

My first thought was along the lines of, “Ok, we got ‘Zen’ Master Flash over here,” a joke playing on both the Buddhist art of meditation and intuition* and the name of one of Hip Hop’s most recognizable DJ and rapper names, Grandmaster Flash.

See, when Men think of yoga, they instantly think ‘female’, hence my joke about my fellow alumni. However…

…I was not ready for what came a few months later in my own life.

I noticed that, because of the amount of writing I do daily, and for so many years, my legs had gotten weaker.

I started noticing that I couldn’t get up from the ground as easily.

It was a craaaaaaaaaazy feeling.

So, I thought about what I could do, in the house, to strengthen my legs without weight. And the answer?

Squatting.

Let me tell you, the first time I tried to squat, I was only able to remain in that position for about 12-15 seconds.

No, I’m not joking.

My legs were shaking like crazy (I said don’t laugh! Lol).

It turned out that my legs were even weaker than I’d thought.

So, over the next few months, I would just squat periodically during the day to strengthen my legs.

Next thing I knew, I was able to squat for four minutes straight.

Yes. Four straight minutes. I was in full beastmode for sure.

Now here’s where the lesson reared its beautiful head to me.

One day, while I was squatting, and I realized something:

This is the position martial artists use when doing katas, which are individual, intense training that martial artists do.

And then it dawned on me: All of these years, martial arts was its own form of yoga.

That’s how they are able to stay in these squatting positions for so long.

And that’s how my fellow alumni got so shredded and was able to perform the yoga poses and stretches he was able to perform.

Yeah, exactly. Blew my mind.

Needless to say, I don’t make jokes about yoga anymore Lol.
